Ew Boy! No surfboard fishing today....a little too big, gnarly to carry my fishing gear out there. I left it all in the truck, grabbed my board, and went surfing instead.
A nice SSW/SW swell, 3-5, some big 6+ sets. I needed the exercise and man I got it. Getting back into shape, I spent about a 10 minutes non-stop pounding in the break zone, fighting current, digging deep to make it back to the channel and into the lineup. It sucks when you get caught inside during the big sets.
The ocean was foaming bad, worst I've seen in a while. Thought maybe salinity of the water was high, but chalked that observation up to algae. No red tide though, only emerald green waters with blue skies above.
I conquered a few nice waves, but again, land came calling. I got thrown and wiped it bad on my wave in, in front of everyone. I laughed inside and came in anyway; I could have gone back out, but that is how I wanted to end my day....in a total wipe-out!
